Christian Counseling Programs
ARE YOUR PROGRAMS ACCREDITED?
Certainly. The accreditation of the NCCA and the college, seminary or university you select is accredited by one or more religious accrediting agencies of good reputation. See this page for more information on accreditation.
WHAT IS A MATRICULATION FEE?
The NCCA coursework is employed by a number of seminaries, colleges and universities. By special arrangement with them, the NCCA will transfer the credits earned by you to one of them and create the paperwork for them to issue your degree. The fee the NCCA charges to transfer your credits and have the university issue your degree is the matriculation fee.
WHO WILL AWARD MY DEGREE?
If you are in a Master's or Doctoral Program, your degree will be issued by one of the associated universities. There is a list of these universities here. Your supervisor will assist you in selecting the right university when the time comes, usually as you complete your final phase. Bachelor's Degrees are awarded by Cornerstone University of Lake Charles, LA.
WHAT IS THE FOUNDATION OF TRAINING I WILL RECEIVE?
The Bible and the temperament provide the primary foundational elements of the counseling model developed by the NCCA.
WHAT FORMATS ARE THE COURSES AVAILABLE IN?
Most courses are available in two formats, either entirely online in the form of pdf files, videos and online exams, or in the traditional home study format with texts, workbooks, printed exams.
DO I NEED TO BE LICENSED BY THE STATE, THE CHURCH, OR BOTH?
Individuals must decide whether they are going into the business of counseling or whether they have been called into the ministry of counseling.
If you decide to become a pastoral or ministerial counselor you need to be certified, licensed, or ordained by a recognized church organization. National Christian Counselor Training can help most people obtain appropriate ministerial credentials, if needed.
ARE THERE ANY TIME LIMITATIONS?
The program is self-paced. There are liberal time limitations. We are patient with students in need.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE METHODS OF INSTRUCTION?

WHAT SUPERVISION METHODS ARE AVAILABLE?
